The Academy Core Set comes with two new Mages, who may look veryย familiar to our experienced players. ย The Wizard and the Beastmaster! ย The Wizard is aligned to the Sistarra faction, which is the name of the Academy in Sortilege. ย Meanwhile the Beastmaster, still sporting his trusty woodland friends, is connected to the Kelsar Grove. Whatย will come of their battles in the Academy? ย Only you can tell that story!
Mage Wars Academy is designed so that all cards are โforward compatibleโ with Mage Warsยฎ Arena. All Mage Wars Academy spell cards are fully playable in Mage Wars Arena.ย Icons, terminology, and keywords all are aligned to provide easy transition, so when you choose to Enter the Arena, your cards, and your investment, come with you!
Arena cards are not compatible with Academy play, as some would be just simply too powerful in a single zone environment.

The Wizard hails from theย Arcaneย school, and is building a reputation as a manipulator and trickster. ย He has studied the ability toย drain other Magesโ power and spell casting abilities along with the skills toย counter, redirectย orย stealย their spells! ย He has access to a variety ofย mythical creatures, each with unique powers that open up new tactics. His spells include a variety of arcane equipment and incantationsย that focus him on exiting his duels as the winner!
