Paladin vs Siren: You’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat…

As we at Arcane Wonders get ready for Origins Game Fair, I had the illustrious task of finding the perfect spoiler, and there is a particular one I’ve been saving. On the live chat I did with Arcane Duels a few months back, I showed off the art for one of our Deptonnes, and now is the time to reveal him to the world! Shoalsdeep Thrasher There you have it, a majestic level 1 shark-person. The Shoalsdeep Thrasher is a pretty straightforward level 1 creature. He’s got a weak 2 die attack, but it comes with a chance to bleed on there and Bloodthirsty +1. Offensively, this Deptonne isn’t messing around. He’s a bargain at 5 mana. However, like most creatures his size, he dies quickly when attacked. Now, at the start of this article I mentioned Origins Game Fair. As I’ll be there all week, I won’t be able to do any more spoilers until next Monday. So strap yourself in, because I have two more Deptonne to show you today! Deptonne Beserker The first is the Deptonne Berserker. As with the previous Deptonne he’s Bloodthirsty +1, to show the natural shark-like tendency to frenzy. However, the Deptonne Berserker takes this to the next level. If a creature in his zone has a Bleed condition, then he can Doublestrike. Combined with more general survivability and you have a very dangerous Deptonne indeed. These two Deptonne have really shown the bloodthirsty frenzy of shark-people, but the last Deptonne I have to reveal really encapsulates the pure cunning of the creatures. Deptonne Bloodshaman The Deptonne Bloodshaman has a much higher chance to bleed than the rest of his brethren and for good reason. When a Deptonne attacks a creature with a Bleed condition, they get Vampiric for that attack. This allows them to really build to a frenzy and sustain themselves on the flesh of their enemies. So there you have it, 3 fantastic Deptonnes. I think you’ll agree that, “You’re gonna need a bigger boat…”
