Paladin vs Siren Spoilier: Temple High Guard?

Posted on: May 11, 2016

I’ve been waiting a long time for this. Or to be more accurate, I’ve been working a long time for this. Today, I get to begin showing you exactly what we’ve been working on here at Arcane Wonders. As most of you know Mage Wars Arena was Arcane Wonders first product, and it’s always been at the core of who we are. I’ve enjoyed all the projects I’ve worked on at AW, but it’s a unique thing to be back working on a VS set. I’m really hoping that as these spoilers roll out you’ll see the passion we poured into this set. I personally want to thank each and every one of the playtesters who worked on this project. Your dedication and diligence will come through in this set. So, the question is how do I start off the spoilers for the most anticipated Mage Wars product since the core set? Well, I ran a poll in our forums, and our players were pretty clear that they wanted to see new creatures. So, without further ado here is our first spoiler of Paladin vs Siren!
Temple High Guard

And check him out! The Temple High Guard is a very solid Holy Level 3 creature. His melee attack is slightly above average. But the real money maker is his ability to counterstike after an attack is declared but before the attack is even made. This guy is going to be an amazing addition to the holy school in general and a solid soldier for the Paladin!

What’s that you say? “This was a promo. We’ve already seen this card?” Well for those of you who’re familiar with one of our early promos, I do have another preview today. Here is a creature that Holy Mages have fervently been asking for. Here is Cassiel, Shield of Bim-Shalla!Cassiel, Shield of Bim-Shalla

Cassiel is the very first Holy familiar. She’s also the only familiar with the Aegis trait. Rounding out her unique traits, is the fact that she’s also one of the only Level 2 familiars in the game. That said she has more open spell choices than many familiars. Because her spells are based on subtypes instead of card types she ends up having many different options, ranging from Consecrated Ground to Armor Ward. This gives her a wonderful flexibility. However it does all focus around support. Cassiel can do very little on her own. So now the only question really is, what will she cast for you?
